This three-dimensional artwork, Academy Chronicles, commemorates the history, growth, leadership, services and achievements of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1933. The tree motif, which features the Tree of Andry, reflects the roots in the Academy’s history and accomplishments. The strong trunk of the AAOS tree extends at the top to 10 specialty branches. The piece is designed in mahogany and birdseye maple woods, with an AAOS timeline and logos of national and international orthopaedic specialty societies photoengraved in metal.
